Treat Yo Self: LuLu’s Order Review

Being a college student, I’ve made it a habit to window-shop, or especially online window-shop. I think everyone can relate to the feeling of being broke 24/7 during these 4 or 5 years. I’ve worked throughout my entire college career but I still have a hard time treating myself to those new pair of shoes I’ve been wanting. And if I do buy something I immediately pick up shifts to pay it off. Man, capitalism is great isn’t it?

I’m intrigued by new trends and pieces to freshen up my wardrobe. Even just by getting one new small thing to add to your closet it can change it immensely. I’m extremely picky with what I buy because I’m frugal. I inspect the quality, price, and question myself if I’m even going to use it. God, there’s that indecisiveness again. So typically, I stick to neutral colors (black), or plain but versatile clothes that I will wear again. I have always been and always will be a savvy shopper. In the words of Lil Dicky, “we gon’ save that money.”

The other day I FINALLY bought the items that have been sitting in my online cart at LuLu’s for months. I decided to treat myself to some new clothes before my spring break trip to Miami (stay tuned for a Miami review 😉 ). I love LuLu’s, it’s one of my favorite places to buy clothes. A lot of things can be expensive there, but I managed to find some deals! So, here I am to review the items for you.

As you can see from the picture, I stuck to mostly neutrals. BUT I purchased a romper that isn’t black! This is a big step for me. I’m not afraid to take fashion or make-up risks, I’ve just never found a romper I actually liked. This one changed my mind. The fit is nice and it’s a soft cotton-blend material. It can be dressed up or down also! Did I mention I love versatile? I rate it 4/5 because it’s a tad short for my liking.

I’m not totally sold on the idea of crop tops. I think subtle is sexy, I don’t believe you need to expose half your stomach to look good; especially because that’s the one part of my body I’m insecure about. Modesty has always been ingrained in my brain from going to a private school my whole life too.

The white crop top I’ll pair with a skirt, jeans, or shorts. I rate it a 4/5 because it’s a little too loose on the sides. Praying I don’t have a Janet Jackson nip-slip when wearing it, fingers –crossed.

The black top I found at TJ Maxx for six dollars! I had to buy it. The ribbed shirt look has been in for a while now, so I thought I’d try. I rate it a 5/5; it’s perfect for a night out or the daytime. I will be keeping both these crop tops to be worn with high-waisted pants and shorts (and probably a sweater over it for me).

Oh lord, I’m a sucker for black heels, and these ones were only twenty-five dollars. They are strap-tastic, funky and different. These ones can be paired with a causal outfit to spruce it up or to make a dressy outfit sexier. I rate this 5/5. However, they will probably give me blisters because all heels do.

I love big sunglasses. Don’t feel like doing your make-up? Put on sunglasses. Hangover? Sunglasses and Advil. They are truly magical. I was skeptical about the mirrored look, but they are amazing. Perfect if you want to make a simple outfit look more high-end. I rate it a 5/5.

I bet no one thought my first official post would be a girly one! I hope you all find your inner Tom Haverford and treat yo’ self every once and awhile. Even if something you adore is typically seen as weird, embrace it and wear it with confidence! It’s more fun to be different anyway.

Kisses! Eno
